Ghana are through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after they held on to a first-half lead to progress.

Ghana made it through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after seeing off Nigeria in a tight and tense affair.

Striker Asamoah Gyan put the Black Stars ahead after 21 minutes after losing his marker and heading in, but it was Ghana keeper, Richard Kingson, and his defence that were the stars of the show frustrating Nigeria fro the rest of the game.

The win means this will be Ghana’s first Nations Cup final appearance since 1992, but Nigeria’s defeat have piled more pressure onto their coach Shaibu Amodu.

Ghana will now take their place in the final on Sunday against Egypt, while

Nigeria play Algeria for the third-place spot on Saturday.
