A much-changed Ghana side made their way through to the last eight of the Africa Cup of Nations, with a 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso side on Tuesday.
A header from Dede Ayew’s after 30mins was enough to see the Black Stars through and end the dreams of Burkina Faso.
Faso, who only needed a stalemate to make the Qtr-finals, made things harder for themselves when Amadou Tall was sent-off for an elbow on Asamoah Gyan in the second half.
Ghana’s win means they will join Ivory Coast from the three-team Group B after Togo withdrew due to that tragic shooting pre tournament.
The Ghanaians, who were well fancied by many before the competition, will now be without their star man Michael Essien who had to withdraw from the tournament through injury before this final group game.
Ghana will now face the hosts Angola in the last eight on Sunday in Luanda, while Group B winners Ivory Coast will play Algeria as the tournament enters the business end.
