African Nations Cup holders Egypt are now three-from-three after their final group game after seeing off Benin 2-0 to make the last eight.
Ahmed Al Muhammadi’s grabbed the first after eluding the keeper with a cross, while Emad Moteab made it 2-0 after just 24 minutes to set up a comfortable afternoon for the Egyptians.
Benin keeper, Djidonou, kept things respectable with a string of excellent saves in the second half.
Egypt ended up topping Group C with nine points, setting up a clash with the Group D runners-up.
