Africa Cup of Nation holders Egypt successfully defended their title and have now won the last three competitions after seeing off Ghana 1-0 in the final.
Egyptian substitute Mohamed Gedo netted the only goal of the game, curling in a great shot past Ghana keeper Richard Kingson in the 85th minute.
However, Gedo’s winner came totally against the run of play, but Ghana didn’t really have much to complain about as, despite plenty of possession, they failed to create many real openings.
Gedo finished the tournament as the top scorer and Egypt became the first team to win three successive titles, while this win means Egypt have now won the cup seven times.
