Cameroon Gabon
Daniel Cousin (17)

Gabon were the latest team to provide an upset in the Group stages of the African Nations Cup when they beat Cameroon by a solitary Daniel Cousin goal.

The Hull City striker scored after 17 minutes after a defensive mix up in the Cameroon area. Cedric Moubamba attempted to clear, and his miskick found its way to Cousin who pushed a low shot past Carlos Kameni.

The goal came against the run of play, and Cameroon continued to dominate through the match but were unable to find the net, with N’Guemo, Emana, Webo and Geremi all having chances in the first half.

Paul Le Guens team came out for the second half and nearly grabbed an equaliser when a free kick set Emana free, however he shot wide with only the keeper to beat.

Gabon kept Samuel Eto’o pretty quiet throughout the game, and without someone of his class being able to provide a finish Gabon hung on to claim all three points.
